Why We Started Wargame Wonders – A Journey Back to the Tabletop

Some people lose themselves in books.
I got lost in cardboard dungeons.

In the early 90s, my first big journey began with a box of HeroQuest that a friend got for Christmas. A little later came StarQuest - with its plastic doors, space marines, and alien corridors. No screens, no internet. Just dice, miniatures, cards, and boundless imagination, and the thrill of the unknown. That was my world.

My father was a model builder. He didn’t roll dice, but he knew the magic of creation – from balsa wood to airbrush kits. The smell of glue and paint was part of our household. Looking back, I realize: I didn’t just grow up with games – I grew up with craft. With passion for detail. With worlds that came alive in miniature..

But like so many stories, mine hit pause.
School. Work. Family.
The miniatures went into a box.
The brushes dried out.
And the spark? It faded.
Not gone – just buried.

Then something happened I never saw coming.

30 years later,
my sons – 10 and 11 – dragged me into a Warhammer store.
Not the other way around.
They were wide-eyed. Hyped. Hooked.
And me?
I walked in as a dad.
I walked out as a wargamer again.

Those smells. That tingling sensation. The minis. The rules. The dice.
I was back.
And this time we were there together .

We built together. We painted together.
The living room became a war zone.
The gaming table becomes a place where memories are created.
The hobby was back – more intense than ever.

One day in the office I “just like that” created a small piece of terrain on the 3D printer.
A crumbling piece of wall. Nothing special.
A colleague walks by, looks at the part – and says:
“Why don’t we sell this?”

He laughed. I did too.
But the question remained.
What if there are more people out there like me?
Who are just getting into the hobby (again) – and need worlds in which they can play?

This question became an idea.
The idea became a passion.
And that passion became Wargame Wonders .

I didn't start this because I wanted to catch a trend.
I do this because I believe in this world.
Because I know how it feels to rediscover a piece of yourself through miniatures and imagination.
And because I want to help others build their own worlds .

Wargame Wonders isn't just about terrain pieces.
It's about atmosphere. History. Immersion.
We don’t just build prints –
🔥 we build stages for your legends.

Welcome to the war zone.
Let's create something epic together.
